    • Isaac Hazlehurst III graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1794 and founded the Hazlehurst mercantile firm in Baltimore with his brother, Andrew. It failed in 1808. He later moved to St. Croix, West Indies, where he managed the plantation of his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Baynton (Markoe) Hazlehurst. He eventually became owner of the estate and died there.
