- Augustine was a lawyer in Greensville Co., VA; a member of the House of Delegates, 1830-31; and of the Virginia Convention of 1829-30. On 13 Sep 1813 he qualified as captain of a troop of cavalry in the Greensville County militia and on 11 Jul 1814 qualified as lieutenant colonel commandant of the county.
